Can anyone recommend methods or programs they used to learn electric guitars?

Get "Electric Guitar For Dummies". I'm serious. I have "Guitar For Dummies" and it's the most easy to understand straight-forward approach.

This has been getting some fantastic reviews around the guitar forums and they are having a half-price sale at the moment. They also have their own forums and the members seem to be pretty happy campers:

This is an excellent program - it includes books 1, 2 & 3 in single volume. It comes with three CDs and is spiral bound. There are lots of supplementary books to use with it:

Check out the customer reviews at Amazon: probably the best I've seen for a guitar book.
