Write her one. That's what I did (it's in my profile)... It was, let's say, much appreciated.

Cheers!

Ummmm...doesn't it depend on what music your girlfriend likes? 10 years ago you could play any Dave Matthew's song and the girls would come swarming. I don't know what it is now. Jack Johnson?

The best advice I can give would be to let her pick the song.

Or at least make sure it's a song that she likes. She'll be more impressed by what song your're playing and now how good you are at it.

Grab an acoustic or classical and play Spanish Romance. Easy finger-picked song. While not "technically challenging," still a nice, romantic song.

Solos and sweeping don't impress girls - learn one of HER favourite songs and learn to sing it, that'll impress her.

- Try writing your own song
- Ask her what kind of music she likes, if you don't know already, and pick a song from those genres
- Or go for a romantic one

You COULD do Friends by Zepplin, although that may send the wrong message.

or you could just say **** it and do some crazy shit like The Mars Volta; L'Via L'Viaquez, Viscera Eyes, Wax Simulacra, etc and impress her with jazz influenced progressive rock. :p

also, be sure to sing TMV songs in spanish, that's also impressive.

Something in The Way - Nirvana

Rape me - Nirvana

I did that with the girl I brought to my prom

on a more serious note..

TS : I can't beleive no one posted either of these two

Stairway to heaven - Zeppelin (anyone that doesn't play guitar thinks it's the hardest song ever :P)....it's pretty easy, and the solo is extremely fun to play, not hard either.

Hotel California - The Eagles....Never tried learning it but I think i heard it's a fun song to play, and everyone will know it.

other songs I'd suggest are Blackbird, and pretty much most other beatles songs, Good riddance by green day, About a Girl by Nirvana....uhhh...and You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC

Slayer - Dead Skin Mask, you must do the vocals and kidnap a child to do the background voice as well.
#35
Cannibal Corpse - Randcid Amputation

or Stripped, Raped and Stangled...also by CC.

serious note, i gotta agree with whoever said Hotel California. Or maybe Free Fallin by Tom Petty?
#36
+1 for writing her a love, romantic song

Or No Boundaries by MAB/Arpeggios from Hell by Malmsteen... sweeping at 300bpm if she's not impressed, bump her lol
#37
oh wait, if she's impressed by technicality, but you want to play somethign that actually has feel, go with Jason Becker: Altitudes is amazing, and Air's really good.
