Ok, so I'm looking for a bass guitar, I've already got classical, acoustic and electric guitars, so I'm not a beginner for the guitar, but I'm looking for something thats cheap but reliable and gets a good sound

Any suggestions??

For ease of buying it would help if its in a pack with a bass amp but not required

A Bass amp is required, you can't play a bass effectively with out one, and you'll blow your guitar amp if you use that. I'd look at the Squier VM series for some high quality basses at a good price.

Bass starter packs are rubbish. What's your budget and genre?

Anywhere up to around £300, genre.. really don't mind, play anything and everything

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.
