Anyone know of any songs with some bass solos?
My bassist wants to learn some or hear some to get an idea of what they could or should sound like.

most Victor Wooten songs are all bass solos. i recomend Classical Thump, U Can't Hold No Groove, and Me & My Bass Guitar. those will be pretty difficult to play though. If he wants to play, Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult has a little mini-solo in it that isn't too hard to learn.
Slap a bass, not a ho.

My Generation by The Who - short & sweet (& I can't play it!).

Tell me about it, he was so damn fast. I'm just about approaching the right speed now.

Anyway, Rush has some brilliant bass solos, check out YYZ.

Also look at Jaco Pastorius (portrait of tracy), if that doesn't inspire him I don't know what will.

other than that and the metallica songs that have already been suggested, i can name you hundreds of bands with good basslines, but few with anything approaching a real solo.

Some song by Korn which I can't remember...

All a few measures long but great nonetheless.

Well, hate to sound lame, but make sure your bassist knows that the important aspect of playing bass isn't soloing, but a balance of melody, countermelody, and rhythm. He should be worried about that before trying to learn solos.

Also, it's very relevant what kind of music yall play.

I don't feel I can suggest any solos until you tell us what kind of music.

I'm all for treating all genres of music fairly, but that was... quite bad.

Thoroughly enjoyed that bass, good line, and perfectly played.
Oh and by the way, is that a boy or a girl? Read all the comments, I'm very confused, it's like youtube's own Frenchy.
