how or why does that have relevance?

I'd go with the 6505 too

Horlicks - you cannot possible say that with that Laney! Unless you have had that modded or some really spanking valves - that VH sounds more stale and dull than the 6505........just saying!

I'm saving for a new amp. And that's like saying you can't critique JFAC until you can compose something better.

EDIT: Nice edit

Hahaha! I thought you'd catch it, but not quote it so quickly - touché my friend!

It's got some delay on there too, probably a bit of reverb, and try using the neck pickup.
#15
^ Try that and you'll need a more raw sounding amp like the 6505's suggested. However, i don't think that tone is anything spectacular really..

There's absolutely nothing special about it and it sounds sterile/lifeless to be honest.

That was one of the worst things I've ever listened to.

But yea, it's definitley 6505 style.

typical ****ing ug loonies as always, turning a question into an open forum about how much they hate a band.

anywho, i really like them, and i really like the lead tone he gets.

however i dislike the 6505 tone, it annoys me, almost stale or something.

that led me to believe they may have been using something different.

No one said they hated that band, we just said their tone was shit.

If you like that tone, you like 6505's coz it was recorded with one. Well a 5150 to be precise but seeing as they're the same thing.
