okay so 7 of my friends and i are having this pokemon tournement. it is two weeks of game play and at the end of the two weeks there is to be a single elimination bracket tournment.

my team will consist of:

Blastoise
Gyarados
Mr. Mime
Dugtrio
Arcanine
&
Vileplume

I was wondering if the pit has any strategy tips or any other ideas for my line up
SKY BLUE TEAM OWNS ALL (If we still exsited)

To be honest, that's not very good. The only ones I'd use in there are Gyarados and Dugtrio, and unless you're playing Ruby and Sapphire they're useless.

Gyarados.

And TS... how the hell can we give you strategies when you've told us pretty much nothing.

Jedit: Use this team ->

Articuno
Raichu
Kingler
Typhlosion
Venasaur
Gengar

Fixed.

I'll tell you why-

Got rid of the Gyarados because you don't need two water pokemon, I replaced it with Zapdos to give you versatility. Alakazam is better than Mr Mine, and Golems are far better than Dugtrios- they have poor defense and HP. Arcanine and Vileplume wouldn't be my first choices, but they're OK.

God, I'm such a nerd.

But you have a Zapdos and a Vileplume to defeat water with. Half of your post I can't even read.

I only use the original 150 pokémon for this and no of those legendary because they are so boring ^^. The rest 500+ pokemon is shiet and looks more like digimon(which sucks)

Alakazam
Golem or maybe Dugtrio because they look cool
Exegutor(sp?)
Gyrados
Electrabuzz
Charizard or "Arcanine"(?)

That's a terrible team. If you're sticking strictly to R/B/Y use this:

Jolteon or Aerodactyl, make sure you give Aerodactyl Earthquake and Rock Slide
Alakazam, you gotta give him Psychic and at least two elemental punches
Rhydon with Earthquake and Rock Slide if you chose Jolteon/Starmie with Surf, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam if you chose Aerodactyl
Hitmonlee, use Meditate a lot and then use Hi Jump Kick
Snorlax, give him Rest and use him defensively
Dodrio, give him Drill Peck

I would never use a plant type. they have so many weaknesses, and can be replaced with water for their strengths.

I'd get rid of the Dodrio, I think they're pretty wack. Snorlax is a good choice but it needs some TMs really, the stock moves aren't really that good. Apart from Rest, that's jolly useful.

Replace Hitmonlee with a Machamp, they're more badass

I chose Hitmonlee because Machamp doesn't get any good fighting moves in R/B/Y. And Dodrio is really underrated, they're fast and pretty powerful. Plus any Pokemon that gets Drill Peck is sweet.

Wait, I just realized. There isn't any special defense in R/B/Y, it's just known as "Special", so you can use moves like Amnesia to increase special attack. So slip a Slowbro in there, give it Amnesia, and reak havoc with Surf, Psychic, and Ice Beam if it gets it.

Fair point on the Machamp. But if you want Drill Peck, why not a Zapdos? They kick Jolteon's ass IMO... two birds with one stone really.

Saying that, I did have a level 55 Dodrio once

Slowbro's are such bastards! Unless you use Thunder or something on it, they just refuse to die.

You don't need two water pokémon, replace Gyrados with something cool. You're lacking Electric and Flying type, maybe a Zapdos?

My ultimate everything kiling team is six wabaffets (spelling?).

I have literally NEVER lost with that team. prolem being it's a bitch to level all of them up to lvl 80 like i use, you have to learn a lot about how to use them effectively, and they aren't in r/b/y. but either way, that's your best bet.

What actual game is the tourney on?

I'd consider actually using strategies.

EDIT: I take it you're playing Red/Blue, so I'd lead with Vileplume, running status moves like sleep powder to annoy your opponent. I'd ditch either Blastoise or Gyarados.

i partially agree. anything up to gold/silver is good but it started going downhill after that IMO. after that they had exhausted al of the possible element mixes that would be useful, and wabbafett (Spelling?) is the best that anything could be.

Wubbofet sucks.

One word, Taunt.

I like the new Pokemon games, I like playing people over the world through Wi-Fi.

Also, there's actual strategy to these battles, as opposed to when I used to play my brother on Gold/Silver.

I only actually dislike a few of the latest Pokémon.
They introduced more moves and type combinations to make it more challenging.

And to the 35980936823 misspellings of Wobuffet... yeah it's wobuffet

+1, SOME of the Pokémon don't even look like Pokémon, but it is a lot more interesting strategically.
