I have a MIM Strat (which i love so far) but the cable that i plug into my amp is always loose. I have to feed the cable through my strap to prevent it from falling out.

Is this normal? Is there something I can tighten or fix to hold the cable in tighter? Could it just be the cable?

I have tried other guitars with the same cable and they do not seem to exhibit the same problem. I do not know if other cables react the same way in the Stratocaster.

Any help of suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am new to guitar (I have only been playing 6 months max) and am sort of afraid to take the cover off the cable thingie unless you guys think i should.

tighten the nut/bolt thingy on the jack socket, see if that helps
