im 15 i dont wonna lose my hearing early but i still like to have my amp loud sometimes, doesnt help that my room is kinda small. but i normally put cotton wool in my ears, i dont use ear plugs cos one of my ears it really hurts when it goes in. so i use cotton wool then i put military ear defenders on. is that good enough, what do you use?

Trojans, always.

Wait...-

I'm too stupid to use protection at jams. It just doesn't sound right.
#7
Should be good nough, TS. I don't really turn my amp up. I figure if I really play/write up to my potential, then I don't need to blast it. But be careful with those ears. You only got 1 set for life.

when i practice with my full band things can get unbearably loud especially with cranked tube amps and a huge PA system and a non-dynamical drummer.

go to walmart or acadamy and buy a pair of gunshot ear protectors

they look like big ass headphones and they eliminate about 70% of the noise, plus no trouble of little earplugs that get lost.

me no need ear protection

...And it... shows?

Wow, that made a lot more sense when I first thought of it, I guess damaged hearing = terrible grammar in my mind.

Anyways, I use earplugs when playing loudly, but if I'm doing something small like a bar or a party, I don't tend to put anything in my ears.

None.... I used to use earplugs until I got one stuck in my ear and it took me 20 minutes to get it out.

So now, I take the ear rape.

I don't use anything, but I really should. I use earplugs when I go to bed, so I guess I'd just use those for it.

Me personally, I gotta hear it to play it. And I prefer it a step further...I like to FEEL it.

Try it ... it's therapeutic

earplugs are good if singing (it helps you hear yourself so you know whether you sound right, but it allows enough sound in so i can hear the music just fine) but if just jammin, nothing.

Normally, I oppose the "too loud, too old, lol" kind of attitude, but it really just isn't the same when the floor's not shaking.

I use protection at jams/rehearsals, and small concerts. Ironically, i never use them on big concerts. That takes the feeling away! If you are seeing your favorite band, you're supposed to take advantage of every little piece of it.

Earplugs at concerts, I just turn my amp down if it's too loud, I don't want to bug the rest of my family with insanely loud metal.
