Is this bass amp any good?

http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Acoustic-B100-100W-1x15-Bass-Combo?sku=482900

$250 for a 100w bass amp.

I need a bass amp that can be heard over guitars and drums.

I do believe you just used Blink 182 and hard rock in the same sentence. It would seem you're rather confused.
I have a quote in my signature! And it makes fun of blink-182! I'm cool now!

Acoustic are good quality amps, but you're going to want more than 100 watts to be heard over guitars and drums. Depending on where you're playing (rehearsal/gig) you'll want at the minimum 150w. Preferably, you'd have 200-300w, but that may not be practical.

Yeah, this guy knows what he's talking about..

As far as i know, Acoustic make reasonably mid-high sounding amps, compared to most bass amps (this isn't a bad thing).. If your drummer isn't too loud (compared to most drummers ) then it should be fine..

Though i'd suggest one of these..

And believe me, its well worth waiting and saving up for a better amp, cause you only need one.. and 2nd hand entry level gear goes for s*** all..

stay away from Ampeg BA, they are no fun for anyone, IMO. too much riding on the name, they are underpowered and kinda muddy.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

100 watt is enough for practise. Drummers can play quiter and guitarists can turn down. But if your gigging with it it wont work unless you have really good pa support in which case you can use your amp as a moniter basically.

I tend to agree, but this is less the case with the more powerful ones..(220W), and the 2x10 as opposed to 1x15 helps a bit also..

To OP, if you let me know what sound you like (name tracks/bands/bassists) and a budget, and i'll be happy to find something that i think would suit you...

though obviously you HAVE to play something properly before you buy it, don't ever buy something cause someone says it's good.. hell i'm about to buy a 2x15 rig, and no-one has said its good, but i LOVE it

Is it really true that Ashdown's starting to go down the crapper? that's a shame.

anyways, i'm set to get the same Nemesis amp that FeOg suggested, just mine's ~8 years old. If they've kept their quality up at all since then, it'll be a great amp.
