So I sit by the window with a journal in my hand
Writing just a little bit of nothing
All the while trying to make sense
Of everything

Out in the distance I see
A cluster of trees
All simply without reason
I can't begin to explain the envy
How my life has become such a chore
How living has become such a bore

And as my pen moves
My thoughts grace paper
Something in me
Decides to think a little deeper
Break the surface of my psyche
Take a look inside
Try and find something out about me

How could I be so far
And not really know a thing
Am I an act or as real as it gets
It troubles my brain
So many problems, so little explanations
Lost in my only little world
Void of any expectations
To be something great, to be something important
Oh how I enjoy mediocrity

As I step away and look at what I've wrote
My mind trails off
Never did much care about anything

Shame considering this is far from my best work and it was meant to be simplistic, not a display of song writing capability. <3

EDIT:

Sorry for taking a swipe man, it was uncalled-for and admittedly shitty.

anywho, it's good, your delivery, getting your ideas across, is top notch.

Eager for more with more interesting subject matter.

extremely good work.

the title intrigued me, as it could of either led to a cliched rock song or a beautiful piece stirring the depths of my own thoughts.

thankfully, it was the latter.

very, very good job.
