Hello,

I have been playing for about a year and a half. I bought a fat strat starter pack with a frontman 15g amp. Pretty much the bottom of the barrel crap... about a year ago I got a zoom G2 effects box hoping it will maybe add some kick to my sound. I now find that I simply cant squeeze out anything good anymore... when I first started I couldnt really tell the difference anyway but now I know I just cant produce the tone to match original songs and such and my sustain is absolute garbage for those long bends etc...

I need new gear and I was hoping for some suggestions... I know ill be playin guitar until the day I die so I was hoping to get something higher end maybe. I would prefer another Fender guitar because im used to the layout. I enjoy both hard rock and jazz fusion so I am open to suggestions. Maybe a telecaster?

What would the pros suggest?

Thanks guys!

Whats your budget?
Because it might be of use to upgrade your amp and your guitar at the same time, you'll have some pretty damn good equipment then.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ SD Alnico Pro II's
Fender Aerodyne Telecaster & Stratocaster
Marshall JCM 800 4104 combo

Orange Tiny Terror combo = $800
Fender american Telecaster = $999

Well thats my suggestion, it'll be pretty damn good too, plus maybe switch out the bridge pickup for a hotrails later on for that extra kick.

I don't think a Tele would sound good playing hard rock.
But if you do want a Fender for sure.
an American Tele would be sweet.

But the amp will affect how you sound a lot more than the guitar.

I would highly recommend getting an amp used.
You would get a lot more bang for your buck.

What major city do you live closest too?

You should definitely check this amp out.

It is an awesome amp.
Try to haggle him down to 650 or so on it.

Then buy a new Fender.

You won't be disappointed.
