i was personally not a big fan of this, but one of my friends wanted me to post it...so i am

Pharisee
by me

your words almost sting
until who you are comes to mind
not what the ignorant think
what they optimistically choose not to find

your actions almost stung
but I'm happier now
don't apologize, to be duped
by you, she couldn't have been worth it

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

don't act as a friend
its nothing but simple self-flattery
i'd never let you that close
i prefer at least basic intelligence in my companions

but what am i worth?
and what's that make you?
you sneer and talk about me
too naive to realize just how despised you are

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

a simple suck-up
but for what?
they'd never let you any higher
not that they think highly of you anyways

can someone useless
act this judgemental?
i wasn't sure they had the capacity
but i guess you're an anomaly of disappointment

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

your friends, the fools
i pity them more and more
they claim to love, but cringe away
your friends, the fools, never a more redundant exclamation

you're a walking contradiction
everything wrong with the church
now why is it that
the undeserving, foolish, closed-minded and hateful judge?

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

you pharisee
no one better fits the definition
even Saul knew when to quit
you hold yourself high, but wait till you come crashing down

you've even self-sheltered
cut yourself off from what makes you human
purposely severed what keeps you tolerable
its disgusting, the lengths you take to bring hatred about yourself

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

Poetic, but not direct enough to make a solid point. Consider revising

your actions almost stung
but I'm happier now
don't apologize, to be duped

Okay, but overly poetic again, and repeating sting is uncreative.

who would take your words?
who would take your works?

This is good.

don't act as a friend
its nothing but simple self-flattery
i'd never let you that close
i prefer at least basic intelligence in my companions
Not bad.

but what am i worth?
and what's that make you?
you sneer and talk about me
too naive to realize just how despised you are
A bit of a turn-around. This is seeming inconsistent.

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near

a simple suck-up
but for what?
they'd never let you any higher

Not bad, but doesn't really have any rhythm to it; the meaning itself is good though.

can someone useless
act this judgemental?
i wasn't sure they had the capacity
but i guess you're an anomaly of disappointment
Trying too hard to be complicated; simplify, simplify.

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

your friends, the fools
i pity them more and more
they claim to love, but cringe away
your friends, the fools, never a more redundant exclamation
The first three are good, but I don't really like the last line.

you're a walking contradiction
everything wrong with the church
now why is it that
the undeserving, foolish, closed-minded and hateful judge?
Odd, I used the "walking contradiction" to describe myself in something I wrote... the church part is good, but unfitting. I have the same to say about the next two lines.

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

you pharisee
no one better fits the definition
even Saul knew when to quit
you hold yourself high, but wait till you come crashing down
Ummm... the first two are decent, but it gets too personal.

you've even self-sheltered
cut yourself off from what makes you human
purposely severed what keeps you tolerable
its disgusting, the lengths you take to bring hatred about yourself
Good, but overly direct.

who would take your words?
who would take your works?
i ask myself, every time you come near
but you're not as appreciated as they let you think

It's okay, but definitely needs work.
