Is there some special way of stopping my ears from ringing?
or will it just fade with time?

Just got back from a slipknot concert and the ringing is rather annoying.

Must've been those random pinch harmonics they decide to throw into their songs.

In any case it'll go away in a few hours.

Yeah the ringing will fade... I went to the Death by Decibel tour which when it came to my town it featured Keep of Kalessin, Eluveitie, Dying Fetus and Kataklysm. I stood at the front the whole time and I was deaf for a day and a half.

EDIT: To the person above me. It isn't right to tell someone the bands they like are horrible. Music is all a matter of opinion.

it's unlikely that it is, but it's possible. I've got a constant ringing inmy ears but it's only quiet. are your ears hurting or is the ringing just annoying?

You're welcome. I suggested musicians earplugs cuz the sound will be at a somewhat reasonable volume, but still be clear.

I don't want to critisiz slipknot (I respect evryone's taste in music), however slipknot's vocalist cant sing, hence the loud music, it will fade in time, usually upto 3 days.

He normally shouts, therefore is not trying to sing. But when he does sing theres nothing wrong with his singing but nor is there ainything special.

Just wear some earplugs to the concert. I always do. Think about how deaf you will be in 20 years otherwise.

For me it disappeared after a couple of days, and I've been at about six metal concerts (only one without earplugs) so far and it's always temporary. Best thing though would to get earplugs. I'd recommend the ones shaped as a drill if you can find any in your country (probably at a pharmacy), they isolate but at the same time you can hear perfect. Much better than those one-time yellow plugs, that easily fall off as well. I have used the same couple at all my concerts, except when I went to see In Flames and when I saw Evile (they didn't play very loud) as the supporters to Megadeth.

You'd be surprised at the amount of people wearing them in concerts.

Anyway, it's very unlikely that you have permanent tinnitus, since you have to force your ears all the time for it to happen (usually). Anyway, that ringing thing means that you will never hear again as good as you used to hear before the ringing happened.
