Guitar - Live, Solo Acoustic (PDs Pub, Pittsburgh 2008-10-14)
Download MP3

Recorded live by the sound man direct to ProTools on Mac.
Guitar (crack pipe) in question is a Fender CD60CE.

C4C as usual.

Lyrics:

(chorus)
Well I made it guitar, still got guitar to go.
Well I made it guitar, still got guitar to go.

Well I woke up this mornin', guitar was there.
Well I had to get to work but I'll be damned if I got anywhere.
Well I tried to break the habit with a handful of pills,
But I can't stop playin' and I'm behind on my bills.

(chorus)

Well it's time for bed, guitar is there.
I can tell the wife is mad but when I play I can hardly care.
Well she tries to make an offer that I can't refuse,
I say “Baby, can't you blow me while I sing the blues?”

(chorus)

Well them 12-step programs, ain't got shit on this.
I ain't never found no drug that could fill that emptiness.
Well I've hit that bottle and I've smoked that pot,
But I ain't never found nothin' that could hit that spot
Oh well, oh hell, I'm goin' down.
Oh well, oh hell, I'm goin' down.

Well I get up on stage, guitar is there.
Well I might make an ass of myself but I hardly care.
Well addiction'll make you do do some really dumb ass shit,
So you might as well have a little fun with it!

(chorus)

Lol I love the lyrics, I can easily relate. I really love the song, and I'm trying hard to find something to crit. If I HAD to pick something, it would be the recording quality. I never really got into the kinda direct acoustic guitar sound. I prefer the more raw, classic sound, its kinda hard to explain. Its just a matter of taste really though.
"Well I might make an ass of myself but I hardly care."
I wish I had your peace of mind lol.
    Thanks.

I love the song. It is so chill. I like how you phrased the lyrics. I love the simplicity of just the guitar and vocals, it is just so real. Chorus is damn catchy too.

I love this song, do you have studio recordings?

Only complaint is that the mic makes the guitar a little too bassy for my tastes. Placed closer to the fretboard I think you could really bring the tone alive, but that's just me nitpicking.

    No real studio stuff yet.

As for the mic, there was no guitar mic. The guitar was plugged directly into the PA (Fender Acoustic/Electric with built in pickup and jack) and the PA went directly into a MacBook. The sound man did it.

    Thanks.
