So I asked in the Gear forums about modding one of my current guitars and placing a Floyd Rose in it, but since it was a bad idea, I have changed my mind too. So I'm going for a new guitar, and here's what I want:

Two or possibly three EMG pickups or other in the same class
Rosewood fretboard with 24 frets (must have 24 frets)
Floyd Rose bridge so that I can make my Dime-squeals
Preferably bolt-on neck, but not necessarily
And preferably one of the bigger brands, such as EPS, Ibanez, Jackson... you get it.
Also having separate volume controls would be a great plus, but not necessary since I can always modify later.

I play metal (thrash mostly) only and I like to shred, and I think Rosewood is one of the faster necks right? My budget is hard to say, because everything is more expensive in Sweden and buying used is an option. But something in the price range of 600-1500 USD.

Until I started this thread I have searched some on my own, and I think the following guitars could be what I'm looking for:

ESP M-II/ -Deluxe
Jackson WRMG (I like special guitars )
(Also feel free to critisize these)

So just post your thoughts and suggestions so that I know what to choose from.

Thanks

Haven't tried any yet. Just want suggestions on guitars with these specs, then I'll try them out at once.

Call Carvin and let them build one to your specs.... Simple as that.

Isn't that expensive? And then also, I'd have to import it... :/

I'd say ESP.

So I went yesterday and tried a WRMG and got dissapointed, because the Licensed Floyd Rose only let me bend the note about 1 step high (but you can do dive bombs as usual).

Can you still do Dimesqueals? And how high?

(I like the rest of the guitar though. Fits me perfectly)

What's your ACTUAL budget, as in Euros or SEK?

There's little point posting a budget in dolalrs as the prices don't translate.
Actually called Mark!

Nevermind, I have basically decided for the WRMG. It's nice with a different guitar you know

I have another question for you. What is the type of Floyd Rose called when you can only bend the note up about two steps, and down as much as you want (the one that is one the WRMG)? And what's the type of Floyd Rose called when you can do stuff like Dimebag? What's the main reason to why the WRMG one only can bend so little? I know it seems like a great waste but I found a nice used Floyd, original and quite cheap, so I wanna know if you can change to a Floyd Rose that is like the one Dimebag used? So that I can make the same squeals as in the end of Cemetary Gates, hehe

Thanks
