guys! i got a line6pod..but umm if i get a good amp would it matter?!?! or itll always sound the same

a pod really doesnt do much, imo. it just makes crappy wannabe versions of good tones.
if you were to get a good amp and use the pod with it, the only way to use it without making the amp obsolete is run the pod through your effects loop.

My pocket pod sounds great through headphones, and terrible through my mesa. The higher-end pods might fare better, but I remain sceptical until I hear otherwise.

I think the general consensus with Line 6 stuff is that the lower-end stuff sounds pretty bad, but as you go up the line it gets really good. I was quite impressed with the way the Vetta/POD/Variax thing works.
