I'm currently attending an automotive school but its definitely not as i expected. So i'm considering joining the air force in one of their mechanical fields. anyone know of someone who was a mechanic in the airforce and what they thought.

I'm going to be a pilot when I'm old enough, but if you join the airforce, and you leave after a certain period of time, you can get jobs SOOOOOOOOOO much easier.. Or is that just NZ?
I think its time to pack your things lets go,
To a place where we both know,
And dont worry, I'll drive real slow,
Spend some time before we go..

listen to me carefully. make certain your specific job is guaranteed, not just the "mechanical career field". go in without a guaranteed job, and you WILL have a guaranteed job:

guaranteed general career field = security police.
guarding air planes with a rifle. boring, boring, boring.

guaranteed administrative career field = clerk typist.
titless waf. boring, boring, boring.

guaranteed mechanical career field = pavement specialist.
digging ditches and fixing holes in the road. digging, digging, digging.
