I'm currently building a new rack with all new equipment. I'm currently using a PODxt LIVE and am going to upgrade to the new X3.

However, I'm torn between if I should get the floorboard or rackmount version.

If I get the rackmount version, then all cables stay in the rack but I loose the versatility of having the unit at my feet. If I go with the LIVE version, then I have that versatility but I will then have to run alot of cables back and forth between my rack and the POD.

What do you guys think? Also is there any tonal quality difference between the two?

Anyone use either of these and have an opinion?

Get the rack and a footswitch, Line6 do a range called FBV and they seem to be pretty good.

Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose though?
I mean, why wouldn't one just go for the LIVE version to begin with in that case?
