Why does it matter? Because some people just have one guitar and want to tear through as many songs as they can with the same tuning. It's annoying to constantly retune, but maybe that's just me. :-P

Here is a smattering of ones I like to play when I've tuned mine down a half-step:

Breaking the Girl - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Rooster - Alice in Chains
Down in a Hole - Alice in Chains
Nutshell - Alice in Chains
Eddie Vedder (the song) - Local H
Bound for the Floor - Local H

If I think of more I'll post again.
Miss Murder by AFI and a lot of System of a down/ weezer is all I can think of, all though I'm not that fond of those bands

Alice in Chains and most of Jerry Cantrell's solo stuff

Alice in Chains is usually really easy but really fun.

Coheed and Cambria has some pretty sweet guitar work if you can stand Claudio's vocals.

Staind has some sweet stuff (It's Been Awhile)

Lots of Weezer is half step down. I especially like Buddy Holly.

Pleasure Pleasure by Bang Camaro is a pretty sweet half step down song as well.
