As we all now (or most of us) on the 5th it's Bonfire Night.

But in my town they're having the big Bonfire and all the Fireworks etc tonight so more people will come. It's like moving Christmas to a more suitable date.

Is this happening anywhere else or is it just my dodgy town?

Your town sucks. Seriously. Set that place on fire.

And to answer your question, I've no idea what my city is doing.

I think you need to stop caring what people think about it. I stayed home all day today and masturbated like 5 times. Fucking blast.

In Tamworth the Bonfire is held at Drayton Manor. I don't know if they stick to the same night every year. It is usually on a weekend though.

The concept of Bonfire Night is not stupid. It's about burning Guy Fawkes, arguably one of the first terrorists in Britian. What is stupid is how comercialisation has changed it.

I don't know...the uni usually do it on the night if I remember correctly. No idea about the town council or whatever.

We usually have it at one of the local villages and most people from the surrounding villages come, its quite a good time.

Oh, By the way, can anyone say what other countries celebrate Bonfire Night?

yeah but it would be like in 400 years time everyone celebrating the hanging of saddam hussein.

And Guy fawkes wasn't even burned at the stake, he was hanged drawn and quartered.

YOU WHAT.

It is probably the least commercialised festival going. Not that I do much for it.

Compared to even Halloween it is NOTHING (in terms of commercialism)

Then instead of Bonfire Night, it would be Genocide Night and the Israelites would try and bomb a town. I would definitely be part of that.

Too true. I don't know where Halloween came from but I know about Guy Fawkes and bonfire night.

yeah i totally agree with you, maybe i worded it wrong.

Maybe I should've said that noone knows what it really is. Now it seems to be just about setting off fireworks, ask any little kid who guy fawkes is and they wont have a clue.
