What do the numbers mean after the letters when tuning?

I see E3 E4 E5 etc..Iv never understood it.Can someone help me?

its the number of octaves from the lowest on a piano.
so, E5 would be the fifth E from the bottom E on a piano.

The note represents the note, the number tells you what octave, but that's been covered already.
Honestly though, I don't mean to sound rude, but stuff like this doesn't belong in the Advanced Technique forum, as tbh it's not particularly advanced and it's not a technique.
