The Sign of Four - Sherlock Holmes doing coke and solving a closed-room murder. Really exciting.
The Brother Karamazov - A murder mystery minus the detective, plus a bunch of crazy Russians.
The Way of Zen - A detailed Westerner's essay on Zen Buddhism. Quite eye-opening/entertaining.
Altered Carbon - Cyberpunk. I do believe its another murder mystery. I never realized I read so many.
The Foundation - Psychologist of the future predicts 30,000 years of chaos, tries to narrow it down to a millenium. Pretty political, pretty funny.

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

I know that everyone's opinion is supposed to matter, but for all of you saying the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, etc.) that doesn't apply.

Those books f***ing suck.
