first full song ive ever written.
c4c

Sleepless nights, awake
insomnia, but wait, it isn't
peace just can't keep up
heated voices break down the walls they've built

it's gotta be over soon, but i can hear no end
i find myself straining to hear the stillness
ears welcoming the absence of sound
and then the silence becomes my escape

a veil of calmness has settled in
and the morning after brings broken promises
rest the troops, war of words isn't over yet
tempers fly and i begin to wonder if they enjoy this

it's gotta be over soon, but i can hear no end
i find myself straining to hear the stillness
ears welcoming the absence of sound
and then the silence becomes my escape

if words could hurt we'd all be dead
if words could hurt we'd all be dead
the screams, the shouts, certifying death

it's gotta be over soon, but i can hear no end
i find myself straining to hear the stillness
ears welcoming the absence of sound
and then the silence becomes my escape

This song makes me feel nostalgic.
When I was growing up my parents were going through a divorce and they would argue a lot. This song reminds me of that time. It also Reminds me of that Blink-182 song "Stay together for the kids" (My favorite one of theirs). I don't know if that was the intended theme or not but, I like how the song Is somewhat vague. It could also be about two lovers in a conflict and one is the narrator.

I really like how the first three verses connect. It really flows from one to the other and makes me feel that the narrator is explaining a process.

i find myself straining to hear the stillness

if words could hurt we'd all be dead

The " if words could hurt " line seems a little cliche to me, but I like the screams, shouts and certifying death one.

The one thing you want to be worried about is sounding to similar to other artist's, Mainly that blink song that I mentioned earlier. It seems really similar to that one.
Other than that I think It's a great song and enjoyed reading it.

As for a title how about " Nostalgia "

I've actually never heard that song of theirs, but I think I'll go give it a listen to.
