hey guys
thanks for all the help so far
alright so now i gotta new problem with my new guitar
on the bass E string, on the lower frets like 7 and below, it has this weird buzzing sound
liek i hit it, theres a pause, then a buzz kinda sound
anyone have any ideas whats the deal is?

also on the high e and b strings the sustain of the notes >12th fret is like nothing
i can hear me hitting the string with the pick more than I can hear the note itself, what can i do?
i was thinking maybe it had to do with string thickness, in which case I am using light.. would switching to medium solve the problem? or am i not even on the right track
thanks!

Sounds like your neck needs some adjustments. Have you done anything to the guitar before this happened?
btw...What guitar are we talking about ?

Are you sure it's just a normal buzzing problem or is there anything more to it?

HAHAHA. ****, man. That totally sucks. You got ****ed over man. "Trust Rod" LOL. Uhh Yeah sorry. What kind of buzzing sound? Like... Does it do it when you're not playing as well, or only when you are playing?

hah yea i saw that
but i know the guitar is a good guitar otherwise.. i just really wanted the modulus neck
and i feel like this guy didnt know how much this guitar could be worth
it was just really sh*ttly maintained, and i feel liek if i can get it going well again itd be good

the buzz is just like when i hit it, it plays the note, then it waits liek half a second and then makes this weird buzz sound
it only happens when i put my finger on the fret, not on the open string itself

Hmm. Sounds like a string problem, to me. But there's not too much you can do about that, if you can't adjust the action. Obviously, if its the strings, and if you cant adjust the action, then it is a cheap thing to fix. Just go into your local music shop and describe the problem, and tell them you need the best strings for that situation.

Sounds like a normal case of buzzing here.
As a starter, try to raise your string saddles at the bridge.
I recommend you to read something about guitar setup first before actually doing anything. Try google.

check with the action higher, could be a high fret that needs filing, also may need to reset the neck.
#15
hmm
thanks guys!
so it sounds like it could be either
a) the truss rod (does any know if graphite necks have truss rods?)
b) the action is too low
c) the strings needed to be thicker (which would offset the low action too, right?)

Yes. Pretty much. Don't **** with the rod yet though. If it even has one. I know nothing about graphite necks. Try all the other things first.

haha def not bro
im not getting near that rod..
i paid my guitar repair guy to get it working before for 60 bucks and he didnt do much
im going to go with him with these ideas and see what he has to say

make him do it
i mean i know how to replace strings
but im not sure how to raise the action on it (electric guitar, strat style)
im just happy its not something like severly wrong (at leasts i don think it is)

just a question ABOUT the les paul style..
Why do some people take the Pick guard off?

Mines been rattling recently so i've took it off, but why are they there in the first place (other than to 'pick''guard'), i don't think they look that special lol.. just a bit of plastic.
