hey UG, quick question

i was just wondering if some of you change strings before they break, like if you think they've lost they're original sound.

yes i change every couple of months because the tone definately goes after a while

Actually it's expected that if you can, you should change your strings (depending on how you treat them) at least every month or so, more for an electric guitar. I have "acid fingers" so I change mine frequently.

And anytime you play live you should change your strings beforehand. Helps your tone and gives you less of a chance of breaking a string or having them go out of tune during your set.

i change my strings every 1-2 months. i don't break it while playing. i only break it when i'm cleaning it and accidentally stretching it.
