I know, this has nothing to do with guitar, and this is ultimate"guitar", but I thought you guys might be able to help me.

I want to get a drum set, but they're so expensive and my parents don't want to spend a lot of money. The cheapest decent set I could find including cymbals is this:

http://drums-percussion.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pearl-Pearl-Vision-VX925SP-Standard-Shell-Pack-?sku=491617

And then this for the hardware:

http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pearl-700-Series-Hardware-Pack?sku=482933

That comes close to about $1,030.00, but you have everything you need there. Do you have any suggestions on a good drum set that wont fall apart as soon as you get it, also some hardware? And for a good price?

You're better off just buying a full set as opposed to a shell pack

Dude I got these strings the other day that couldn't be tuned to higher than 4 octaves below middle C then I realized that they were shoelaces and they weren't making any sound at all.

Don't go straight to Pearl. That's very high end. So unless you're pretty experienced it's a waste of an investment.

For one thing that's not true at all Pearl also makes low end sets, secondly it's a waste to buy a crappy set first because you'll grow out of it extremely quickly, it's better to buy a slightly more expensive set that won't sound like crap and will last you a longer amount of time

Ah a low end Pearl might be good. Sorry I was under the impression that they were one of the "uber" kits.
