okay well my guitar wasnt connecting to the cable. so i unscrewed the port and took a look. i was fiddling around with whatever electronic shiznit was inside, and i accidentally pulled the metal piece right away from the wire. i dont know how to explain it exactly so i took pics with my cell phone.

any help would be great. i plan to go to a shop soon, but i was just wondering if anybody here knows what to do.

i dont even see a white wire. theres just a red wire. i have an ESP LTD f100 is that helps any.

colours vary according to who makes the guitar. the red wire on your guitar probably does the same job as the white wire in the pic. you also have bare wire or some other colour wire also going to the jack, right?

what is broken on yours?

open the guitar cavity, see if two wires go to the jack, or if one is ripped off in there.

also make sure that one wire isnt 2 wrapped in one casing.
the pic is blury but it looks like a thicker wire there, with the red coming from it.

there might be a second wire in there.

Someone

also flip over the jack, what wire bits are still connected to it?
any color indications on those bits?
