So i decided to buy a new amp, my lovely MicroCube's tones are sounds like shit nowadays to my ears.
I am not thinking about gigging and live stuff, generally i would need an tube amp with bedroom volume levels, something that is nut much louder than a MicroCube.

So can you recommend me some bedroom tube amps? I am not into butique ones because my budget is really thight.

I would use it with a Boss DS1, so i dont need a really high gain amp, just some cheaper stuff with great tube tones.

Mesa Boogie Express. Or if you can find one on E-bay, the Boogie Subway Rockets are really cool. The Express is basically a new version of the Rocket.

Bugera 333 combo?...cheapest bang for your buck I can think of that has a half decent tone.

Seconded, I remember being torn between a Valve Junior and a Cube 60, I went with the Cube for all the gizmos and because it's built like a tank, but it was a close run thing.

I found a few amps which could be somewhat accessible from my country.
They are:

-EPIPHONE VALVE JUNIOR
-PEAVEY ROYAL 8 VALVE KING
-FENDER CHAMPION 600
-BLACKHEART LITTLE GIANT
-FENDER VIBRO CHAMP XD
-BLACKSTAR HT-5 COMBO

(sorry for the caps, they become big after copy paste)

Are those amps like shite? Which of them are the best? I don't need built in effects, and high gain.

The trouble with that is unless you use the DS-1 as a boost for an already overdriven tube amp it kills the tube tone. so unless you're only looking for tube cleans, that won't really help.

I've only really looked into the fender champ, myself, and that seems like it can be cranked up all the way without being too loud for daytime practice, but too loud for morning/evening and need i say night time playing. I think unless you're in a semi-detached or terraced house with bad soundproofing you should be able to get away with turning the volume up to about 8 or 9 (it goes up to 12, thats ONE louder than 11, beat that nigel!)

others have said that most 5 watters are way too loud as bedroom amps, and won't give you that "tube tone" without being cranked, especially not with a DS-1 - even the fender could be too loud.

Have people forgotten about the blackheart killer ant? what happened to that? did they not release it? or was it crap? i just haven't heard a mention of it for a long time.
Rig Winter 2017:

Fender Jazzmaster/Yamaha SG1000
Boss TU-3, DS-2, CS-3, EHX small stone, Danelectro delay
Laney VC30-112 with G12H30 speaker, or Session Rockette 30 for smaller gigs
Elixir Nanoweb 11-49 strings, Dunlop Jazz III XL picks
Shure SM57 mic in front of the amp

The only one I wouldn't consider is the valve king, but that's just because personally I don't like them. You might though, everything else you listed I've tried and enjoyed playing. So I think you need to try them out.

That's pretty much it.

I think the BH would be great. Ditch the DS-1 and get a nice overdrive pedal.

you should get a blackheart and a nice overdrive pedal ,i have a sound sample of my clean blackheart in the profile

It looks to me that the only amp that i could buy at a decent price without international shipping is the Peavey VK Royal 8 from that list. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/guitar_amplifiers/peavey/valve_king_royal_8/index.html
It looks to me that it have nice reviews for the price.

Is it any good?

It have a gain knob, so i could use it at rather low volumes.

Would it be noticeable better than the MicroCube?

#16
I don't think we know what styles of music you play or what your total budget is but there are many folks, myself included, that feel a Valveking 112 can be played at bedroom levels. There are many clips on the first page of The Valveking Thread. Maybe listen to some of those to help determine if it fits. Can't speak to the Royal 8.

The dummy jack trick and an OD pedal tightens up the 'mud'.

I agree you need an OD pedal and not a Disti pedal.

go to www.proguitarshop.com and listen to some overdrive and DISTORTION pedals they demo on Tube amps. look at the fulltone ocd for overdrive at lower volumes or the mi audio crunchbox.

My budget is around 300 $ or lower but please note that that those prices are much more higher here. That ValveKing 112 would be definitely high.

As i stated i wouldn't play too high gain music, no metal, (prefix)core and stuff.

I searched a bit and i found out that if i don't eat for 2 months i could get a Blackheart Little Giant Combo or a LG Stack which are looks the same to me.

Are they would be "silent" enough? (they have a 5/3w switch) Also would they be much better than, for example, a Peavey Royal 8?

IMO, if I wanted a bedroom tube amp, it'd be the Blackheart Killer Ant or the Blackstar HT5.
#29
an Epi valve jr and a eq pedal and digitech bad monkey. when you can afford it a reverb pedal. tube changes are cheap and easy to do and Make a difference. down the road you can look into some of the kits to modify if you wish.

I own and can recommend the Peavey Valve King Royal 8. Awesome little practice amp. Usually sells for about $200 U.S. Don't let the 5 watts turn you off, it means you can use it like a tube amp is supposed to be used...cranked up. It's plenty loud for just sitting around the house!

I don't know about using the DS-1 with it...I use OD pedals with my tube amps.

Whoever said the Mesa Express...yeah, thats the one to have...but it's $1,000+ anywhere you find it.

I am tend to like the idea, now i should find out which od pedal should i buy. I am kinda like a kinda fat, rich in midrange lead tone. (i am dont really want to the same like Santana, SRV or Satch, i know it would be a bit more expensive )

(I am heard a few samples of the Boss DS1 and i can tell you that i hate it so far. It sounds thin and digital)

Heres a list of a few pedals availbale here: Webshop1 You dont have to know my langugae, its just navigating on the botttom or headline with the numbers.

Here is an other shop, there are only Boss pedals at the link, navigation is the same: Webshop Boss

Also i would like to ask, is there any dramatic difference between EQ pedals?

Okay I'm kind of late on this.

1. Whoever told me to go listen to sound samples on fulltone's website. those distortion pedals aren't the same as a DS-1, I forgot the proper words for it, but the OCD is a more raunchy OD pedal in principal. Sorry if I'm vague

2. The valveking, it's not that it's a bad amp. It's just not the best, and you're looking at amps that surpass it by far. Personally, I'd be looking at the fender or valve Jr.

3. Overdrive pedals. The cheap solution would be a digitech bad monkey, the good solution would be either a ibanez TS 9 (or 8, depending on which you like more) or a maxon 8(same as the ibanez, only with true bypass basically). But if you wanna be able to get more gain for stuff like, let's say getting as heavy as rage against the machine, I'd look at the Fulltone OCD, which I mentioned previously in this post.

Hope this helps.
