I've set out the task to myself to make 1000 paper cranes. I plan to draw a little stick figure man inside each one, with a witty remark, a thought or something meaningful.

So the question or topic i raise to you, Pit; has any of you ever made 1000 paper cranes before? Or any other origami in general (not 1000, but just origami).

Discuss.

How about just send a ship at the speed up light directly to the sun, and the gravity will pull it towards the sun, thus speeding it over the speed of light.

I laughed really hard at that for some reason

You're going to run out of witty remarks at about #30. But good luck. It'll look pretty cool visually once you're done. Or even halfway through.

My Grade 5 class made a thousand, it was during the few weeks of school term before Christmas when all our work had been assessed and we had nothing to do.

@ Firenze: No, i don't have leukemia or something. I'm healthy, i want something to do.

@ Birchall17: I have both a girlfriend AND a job, but i want to do something.

After i'm done i'm going to string them all together and hang them in a public area, and let randoms take them and open them up to see the thing inside.

I'm not going to fill it entirely with witty remarks. As the stickman i mentioned, it follows the main character (as i've titled "Hatman") around through problems (mainly relationship ones).

Actually, if someone grabs a random one and looks at it, it wouldn't make much sense because they wouldn't know the full Hatman story. Oh well.

I can't believe how few people have heard of Sadako Sasaki.

Such a sad story.

Yeah. So far it's only been 3 people in this thread that know who she is.

That's why I asked if you had leukemia, TS.

I've made probably (collectively over the course of maybe two years) thousands of assorted origami when I was younger. They practically filled my room

Yeah I got obesssed. My mom had to throw them away because they started becoming a fire and cockroach hazard.
