Dear sirs,

I was wondering if there would be any compatibility problems when buying an amp from the UK. I live in the Netherlands myself. My Orange Tiny Terror came with a British and a European power cord and I haven't had any problems with it. But isn't the electric current from British wall sockets 110 volts instead of 230? I'm thinking about buying a new 6505 head in an English webshop since it's somehow cheaper than in Germany. Will it work instantly?

Please, somebody enlighten me.

No, british wall sockets give 230V, you should be fine, although you will need an adapter.

Actually, most British sockets are 240 volt, some are 230, and a few are 220. Most things bult to run in Britain are built to 230 simply because that is "in the middle" so you should be ok. If it is built to run on 240 then you will need to rebias the thing and it'll end up having slightly less power but thats not going to be the end of the world. A lot of amps with an export transformer come with taps for 230 and 240 so you might want to check that out to
