You do NOT need a dist. pedal with a Bugera.

That thing has enough gain on tap for all sorts of crazy shit.

And even if you needed more, you'd need an OD, not a dist.

Digitech Bad Monkey.

You probably won't need a distortion pedal tonewise, but for a boost it might be good to have.
#11
Fulltone OCD is my personal fav for OD.

But really.

I really don't think you'll need any extra gain from the Bugera.
#13
im looking for a OD pedal. i found the krank krankshaft and founi think its kinda good. if any of you have heard the song "Voice of the Soul" from Death, thats a sound i want to achieve.

As everyone has said, you are better off with an OD or Tubescreamer pedal because the Bugera has heaps of gain. I think that you would be better off with an EQ pedal because then you can shape your tone as much as you like

ok this is now a dist vs OD thread

i play metal so im thinking i want more dist. i play loads of death metal...

Listen. The amp used by death was a Marshall Valvestate or similar amp. They aren't that good of amps, but if you want that tone, you should get that amp. The Bugera without a pedal will sound far superior, but it is the tone you want, not the one I want.

I have the 333 Head, it easily has enough gain on the lead channel to get a 'Death' sound. If you buy the amp and have trouble with getting an accurate sound the you can try putting an EQ pedal into the effects loop.

Dude, you must be a pedal junkie, because its obvious you have a better sound already than if you threw a bad pedal into the mix. Just get an OD, high gain amps dont need dist. Troll-slut
#28
adding a distortion pedal to the Bugera will make sound really fizzy man. the amp has WAY more gain then you will need for death metal. i have the Bugera 6262 and it has a WAY more gain then i would ever use. i play hard-punk and a bit of old school thrash and i have my gain about 5-6. like i said adding a distortion pedal to the Bugera will make the amp sound like a cheap solid state. i tried throwing a metal muff in front of mine and it sounded so fuzzy and noisey using it on the crunch function and the lead channel.

an overdrive is what you want man. look at the Bad Monkey pedal. a Ibanez tube screamer, or a Boss SD1

OVERDRIVE PEDAL

What you usually do is... You get an OD to tighten up the gain so its nice and tight and roaring

Maxon OD-808
Fulltone OCD

Btw don't get the Digitech rp500, think about exactly which efx you want to use than do it. because chances are you could get a few amazing single pedals vs one mediocre one.

Did you not read the Maxon/Tubescreamer recommendations?

yes but im seeking an answear for the muddines question

and want to know if any of those is any good

EDIT:i just saw the maxon and it seems quite small. the review said it made mesa boogies gossy dist into a good one. reviews say that bugeras are really close to mesas so im starting to lean towards it but it seems pretty small....would a coffin case blood drive or a krank krankshaft do the same job?

The Blooddrive is a distortion I think. The reason you think the Maxon sucks and the Krankshaft isn't what you are looking for is because you're not supposed to use OD pedals as the source of your gain.
