You can make html with any text editor, so it's probably not the problem. I'll take a look at it.

Oh sorry.
1 I say just scan it closely...
2 Split it into sections and go through each to observe flaws
3 Fix flaws
4 Put back together

I'm no expert in html whatsoever, but i looked at it and should it be <br/> instead of <br /> about 11 lines down?

i have no html experience, but its my best guess

EDIT: and i looked at that html tutorial and maybe it should be <BR /> just a thought

nah it's different for xhtml. xhtml is the standard and all tags must be lowercase the problem was i was using textedit on mac and it's preferences were doing rich text or something stupid. got if fixed though.

You have used character data somewhere it is not permitted to appear. Mistakes that can cause this error include:

* putting text directly in the body of the document without wrapping it in a container element (such as a <p>aragraph</p>, or
* forgetting to quote an attribute value (where characters such as "%" and "/" are common, but cannot appear without surrounding quotes), or
* using XHTML-style self-closing tags (such as <meta ... /> in HTML 4.01 or earlier. To fix, remove the extra slash ('/') character. For more information about the reasons for this, see Empty elements in SGML, HTML, XML, and XHTML.

That's a start at least. There are a number of other non-xhtml compliant things in there but they won't mess up the page.

^^ This is correct. You're opening anchors and not closing them, so it's breaking the site. You've just mis-typed a comma instead of a >.

I'd probably add the encoding attribute as well, really. But that's not 'necessary'.
