"Ur in ma camera starin at ma sensor"

S'a really nice pic, though the only thing is I'm not sure about the focus point, if you focused on the eye with a lower aperture I'd like it more, but the beaks out but the bit below the eye isn't. Meh, a hellofalot better than i could do

What bird is it? Apart from Scary mofo...

S'an African Crowned Crane.

....you see, it was difficult to focus on it in general due to the whopping great fence in front of it's face but I managed to get a reasonably sharp image so..... yeah. I was also distracting it off camera waving my hand about so I was hoping I wasn't going to get pecked..... it did peck me though >__<

No quoting of images! And the cheek bits burnt out! Does look better though, but I'd still try and sharpen the eye a bit, doesn't need it much though.
#90
To be fair I hadn't done anything to it. Minimal effort today. I'm far too tired from waking up at stupid o clock.

Bah, you should always post-process in RAW. Even if you don't like the picture.

It was to make a better before/after judgement

Can! Just select it then feather it by about 100ish and reduce exposure! Or burn the highlights with about 5%!

Unfortunately due to lack of funds and lack of decent eBay-ness when I managed to find a cheap memory stick which was error-y..... I cannot shoot in RAW, because I'd only be able to shoot like 40 images.

Eek! I can't even use evilBay, but I'd get more as soon as you can, for the quality you need you really need to shoot RAW.

I did attempt to buy a memory stick, but it was faulty to the max, and I'm kinda skint until January. I've never found much need for RAWs before, although I imagine I will from now on. Geh.

Even if you don't need the nice post-processing options, the image qualities loads better, you might wanna start using .tif with LZW compression (gives you the option after you choose tif) for your Uni stuff, the compressions loads better so you can blow it up bigger and more detail etc.
#101
I don't actually think I can set them to tif files

There's my dads film camera, but he wouldn't let me near that xD
Thats what happened on my camera actually, first things started going pink, then they went incredibly blurry. Apparently, some internal wiring has come loose.

Just a couple of old photos from a few years ago, haven't really sorted out my ones from Egypt yet, which was the last time I actually took pictures. Been digging through the discs I put the old photos on, and this is what I found:

You've got some really good stuff, WholeLottaLovin. I faved a few of them on Flickr.

tugboat: Flickr says SHE uses a Canon 30D.

Thanks for the faves and comments.

IMO its not the camera that makes the image but rather the lighting, setup etc. I've been shooting 3ish years now; started in the summer of 2005, in 8th grade.

I've only got a 18-55mm and a 75-300mm lens. My dad and I share (I'm 17) a wide angle and a 50-500 mm lens. I almost never use the 50-500 though. We've got a few flashes, but they're on the way or I haven't used them yet.

Devon

EDIT: Rambo-Conny- you've got some amazing shots on your flickr... the lighting in some of the shots is amazing!

Nah, I have the 75-300 III USM, here: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-75-300mm-f-4-5.6-III-USM-Lens-Review.aspx

I believe this is the lens you are talking about... http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-75-300mm-f-4-5.6-IS-USM-Lens-Review.aspx ?

EDIT: VERY NICE long exposure shots.... ahhhh!
