well the one is made of alder, and the other is made from mahogany. duh

the two different woods will sound much different - the alder has a bright, open tone (most strats are either alder or ash, which sounds close). The mahogany has a warm, less trebly tone (think les paul). I like the mah. strats, the open trem spring chamber and the routing for a humbucker and two single coils gives the mahogany a brighter tone, and helps bring out the mids and higher freq's. Just try before you buy
