What is your best favorite live album ever?
It may depend on the songs on the album, whatever.

How the West Was Won by Led Zeppelin collects all the best live performances from different concerts.
This rounds up to the best album, in my opinion, ever.
Every song, and I mean every song, is worth listening to in your playlist.
None of the albums have impressed me for a long time.
The album simply has the best version of all the songs.

There's a reason why they were called the best live band in the world.

Its not about the Radio its about talent, the front man has a bigger vocal range than Micheal Jackson and he can sing from heavey metal to high pitched ...No.12 on the top 20 under rated guitarists of ALL TIME...etc

BRIGHTON ROCK. The best delay effect in history.

And, to a lesser extent, Bonamassa - Live from Nowhere In Particular.
Great blues artist with excellent melodic direction finally breaks up the swathe of crap called modernn music composed of tasteless nu-metal, manufactured pop and little boys with guitars. (Generalising here, I know all about modern talent!)

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

It is since it's post-Burton, although not as much as a Trujilo-era post-Burton live album would be.

Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous

And damn you!

The solo in Still In Love With You played by Brian Robertson is pure awesome, I love his tone. Same with the Rock Bottom solo on Strangers; that's ace too.

But let us not forget:

On Stage by Rainbow

and

Made In Japan - Deep Purple

and

Made In Europe - Deep Purple. Blackmore's playing may not be awesome, but the rest of the band are in tip top shape.

AC/DC Live is really good. It's pretty much a greatest hits CD. One thing I don't like is that every time I listen to the CD, I have to fast forward to at least 1:10, because that's when Chris Slade starts playing that cymbal. Before that, it's fans cheering for a minute!

Which is exactly why it blows.

A good live album represents a snapshot of what those songs meant at that moment in time, how the band interacted with a particular audience and the spirit of the whole event. You can't compile a live album. It's just wrong.
