What are some cool on-stage moves? Me and the best musicians in our school have put a band together and hold a concert in the school hall to make money for children in need in two weeks (i think its two weeks XD) and our setlist:

Welcome To The Jungle - Guns N Roses,
Shout At The Devil - Motley Crue,
Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix,

Farewell Ballad - Zakk Wyle (im playing this while the others take a break)

Bleed Well - HIM
Sex Is On Fire - Kings Of Leon (because its popular in my school at the moment, our music teacher is making us play this)

But I want to make our performance more entertaining, we have polished all the music off and ran through the setlist many times and its all good and perfect note for note (highly doubt it will be on the actual day though XD) but how can I make our show look good? I can do some guitar tricks, like swinging my guitar over my shoulder and then play again and jump and stuff but what simple things will give us stage presence?; like little moves?

I am lead guitar by the way; our setup is:

Lead Vocalist
Lead Guitar/Back Up Vocals ( me )
Rhythm Guitar
Bass Guitar
Drums

Thanks :P

moonwalk while playing. definitely

engage the audience. point out to someone whos having a good time and just smile

raise your fist in the air whenever theres a shout and you dont need your picking hand. but make sure youre not the only one, cuz then you might look kinda goofy

study some videos on youtube of live performances. dance around a bit, like slash, headbang during shout at the devil, etc

Feel the music haha. Maybe you and him get close and play guitar vs. guitar and some kicks. Make sure you kick the singer too.
#10
you mean like having the other guitarist tap some notes on your guitar while your tapping down at the body??
coz i can do that.
EDIT: and sometimes when i'm playing with the epic 10 string BC Bich, i'll swing the guitar around my shoulders and hitting one of the drummers crash cymbals with the headstock all at the same time

Trust me bassists very rarely move. They are the sloths of the musical universe.

Try doing the Paramore Pressure flip if you can :P It's not really simple though ) But it's awesome. Search it in Youtube

Also try a part where you all go headbanging in rhythm at the same time.

Then if there's a guitar solo in a song, let the singer sing "bla bla bla bla... HEY (guitarist's name)! right before the solo. Paramore (again) did this in Misery Business live in Almost Acoustic Xmas. You could check it out on Youtube.

Eye contact with the audience will be really great The person who you were looking at will definitely be your fan. Do that with 10 people and you're bound to be famous )

Just a few tips.

You're funny.

Anyways, I'll just capitalize on what some people here have already mentioned. First, the Feel! (Notice the capitalization of an otherwise non-proper noun?) Make sure the audience can tell you are feeling the music, that you are engaged in it. This display of Feel could be in the form of headbanging to the song, or tapping your feet. You don't have to bust out any ridiculous guitar spins for this, just make sure to do those seemingly small things right.

Now, item number two: Audience Interaction. You are going to have to give them a sense of engagement. Look them in the eyes when you play, don't stare at your fret hand and wonder if you're pressing down the right frets. You should have that stuff all nailed down before you even hit the stage. Considering you're a guitarist, you probably won't get much time on the mic, so the task of getting the crowd to sing along/clap their hands to the beat/etc. lies with the singer. Just make sure he can get that down. So, back to your role. Make sure you look them in the eyes, or at least give them some recognition. Stick your tongue out at them as if you were Gene Simmons or something. I don't know. Just let them know in one way or another that they are at a live performance, instead of just watching one off Youtube or some crap.

The final item and probably the most important one: Fellow Bandmates. If they aren't rocking out at least as hard as you are, then that may look awkward. Being the lone guy rocking out can be awkward, but a situation where the whole band is into it except for one guy is equally bad. Make sure EVERYONE is rocking out and feeling the music. Otherwise your performance may not be as good as it could be.

So, good luck. I'm currently preparing for a performance myself. Hope you do well.

So wait, the best musicians in your school only play guitar, sing, bass, and drums? What about violin, cello, band geeks and so on? that was kind of a bold statement to make - unless you mean you are the best at your instruments.... I think it would be bad ass to get a strings section or a brass section and do a couple santana to put a little spice in the air... But my favorite stage move is sitting on my knees and leaning back till i touch the floor, people go nuts for it, then as i come back up use momentum to make it looks hard to do. (dont use one leg to help push up)

If we did tune using the 5th fret on the G string it'd be a C. At the moment it goes G B which stands for George Bush. So obviously GB doesn't want you to C the truth! To the conspiracy cave!

Just do what you do when you rock out. If your going to force stage moves that you dont like itll stand out like a sore thumb. However dont let me discourage you, live music is a performance art just like drama. On more alternative songs really look like your hitting the guitar hard, think of how johnny greenwood plays his guitar.

I've seen so many of these threads about stage moves

Why dont people realize that if you play your music so f**cking amazingly while having a good time with abnd mates, the audience will see this and enjoy the fact that your enjoying it!

If this fails-Play eruption with your feet.
