Hello All.

I know i've asked this before, but i need to know before turkey day.

I'm looking to boost my sound, so pedals are my choice. I want/need an analog delay/reverb, a noisegate, and maybe a new wah wah.

Now i know you'll want my gear/budget. I use either a Gibson Les Paul, or a Gibson Explorer through my mighty Mesa Boogie Mark IV. My current wah wah is an Ibanez Weeping Demon.

Budget wise, i don't know. These will be asked for as gifts for my birthday/xmas, and seeing as my birthday is the 10th, i may as well get it all asked for at the same time.
But i'd say probably around $100-$250 is about as high per pedal as i can ask for.

I play rockabilly, blues, jazz, classic rock, metal, a little surf, sludge, and punk. Most subgenres of those are in my repertoire.

Please, no new amp or new guitar suggestions. I'll be purchasing a single coil guitar of some sort before valentines day, and i am in love with my amp.

Thanks you guys,
P O E~~

For delay: EHX Memory Man... why no digital? It's not like you'll lose sound quality. Just because analog delays sound 'warmer' doesn't mean they're better... furthermore you lose tap tempo.

If you'd be interested in a digital delay now, perhaps check out the Boss DD-7.

For reverb: EHX Holy Grail Plus.

Noisegate: ISP Decimator.

Wah: Morley Bad Horsie if you want something that turns itself off... if not, maybe a Dunlop 535Q?

I dig the Bad Horsie, and the Decimator. But those EHX pedals sounded too... Sterile.

I dunno, i'll keep looking.

Edit:

I'm open to digital i guess, but i do want a very warm delay. a rauchy, warm tone.

also look into those line 6 pedals.
They dont get as much credit as they deserve, the modulations and DS boxes i understand why, but the delay and reverbs are miles ahead of any boss stuff ive played.

I checked the Line 6 delays/reverbs. I wasnt impressed.

the DE-7 is probably one of the best analog sims i've ever heard in a stompbox. less than $100 after taxes - i strongly recommend it. use the extra money on a seperate reverb.

if you aren't looking for anything over the top, the EHX holy grail (plus) is quite good.

noisegate is simple, just stick with an ISP decimator.

edit: Ibanez DE-7, that is.

^warned for spamming (triple post).

Delay - plenty of choices. Personally I'd go for the boss DD-2/3 (yeah I know it's digital, but you should check it out as is sounds great)

Noise gate - +1 on ISP decimator. Only worthwhile option really.

Wah - Crybaby or vox (and mod it to vintage specs). If you can afford it get the fulltone. IMO those modern wahs like ibanez and morley are all crap, I want my wah to sound like wah dammit.

the ad-9 is a good pedal if you're looking just for short delay times, warmer repeats, and somewhat wobbly more charateristic echoes.

i have a maxon ad-9pro on my board and to be honest, it doesn't get much use at all. that may be because the music i play requires 3 delays and a looper, plus 2 reverbs.

what type of music do you play?
