I have to learn a country song for my guitar teacher. I've been playing for a year, and I've been coming along well with metal and rock. Country is new to me though. Suggestions?

meh if I were you I'd try playing blues and jazz, more challenging but more fun to play.
Cette nuit j'ai rêvé que je mâchais ses yeux
Après avoir crevé par accès de furie
Ta replète panse d'helminthes blancs nourrie,
Trop prompte à déféquer le fruit d'un vit sanieux.

Don't Go Back to Rockville - R.E.M.

That's quite a country-ish song.

Brad Paisley is a guitarist just as sick as anyone in any genre. He plays solos that are as complex as anything in "blues and jazz". Listen to "The Nervous Breakdown" or "Munster Rag", sick instrumentals. "Me Neither" is a popular one with some nasty soloing

I live in Sweden.

I got it though: South Park in the "You Got F'ed in the A"-episode.

I love that one.

Check out "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" by The Byrds.
It's what turned me on to country.

Well, if you've only been playing for a year, I'd say go for Country Boy Can Survive by Hank Williams Jr. It's a pretty awesome song, easy too...

I don't want anything overly easy. I've been playing a year, but I'm doing really well in that length of time. I've accomplished a lot as a metal guitarist, I can sweep fairly well and I can do solos similar to the styles of Phil Demmell/Rob Flynn pretty cleanly. And I have no trouble with rhythm. I want something slightly challenging, but it seems that all country is insanely hard or insanely easy.

Definately. Brad Paisley is a beast. Also check out "Ticks". Pretty simple song & fun to play.
