In your opinion, who's the fastest and most technical drummer you've heard? I'd prefer to hear some metal drummers, but other styles are good too. But metal, ftw.
#4
Wasn't the drummer for Divine Heresy named fastest drummer?

Most likely, but I'm looking for technical too.

Hellhammer is extremely talented with the double bass, but I don't know if I'd consider him most technical.

My friend knows the band, they're buds with his older brother. He appeared in one of their videos, so he says.

I don't know but before anyone says it, can I name an unofficial rule? Too bad I'm doing it anyway

NO NEIL PEART!
BRIAN. SCHNEIDER.

Marco Minneman comes to mind since he's a very well-rounded drummer. I'm too lazy to think of others and compare them though.

The guy from August Burns Red is really technical. He's a beast with double bass.

The guy from Stick to your Guns has really fast double bass, really technical. I think he's one of the best.

Heh, I'll say John Bonham

Considering I'm not big into drummers... But, still, his triplets are pretty damn fast? Heheh.

I really have no idea if he's not a valid response. And I'm surprised that I don't know...

P.S. I'm a womanfolk! : )

I personally prefer Mike Portnoy, but I think Joey Jordison is better, sad to say it honestly, he's stuck with such a non talented band (compared to others), but yeah I think Joey.

Joey has speed. I give him that. However he really isn't all that technical. His beats are pretty simple if they are slowed down. It's the speed that makes them hard.

I would say that David King from the Bad Plus is the best and most technical drummer. His technique is beyond any traditional drummer as he uses the drums to play both sick melodies and to weave tight and crazy rhythms through the songs.
i enjoy head

i cant really judge drummers that well. But my favourite drummers are michael axenrot of bloodbath/ new opeth, martin lopez of old opeth, and most notably Kai Hahto of rotten sound/ wintersun

I like Brann Dailor. I doubt he is THE best or THE most technical.

Hey, off topic, but I think Divine Heresey sounds better without their vocalist. Anyone agreeing with me?

You metal newbs. Not one freaking mention of Flo Mounier of Cryptopsy? Fail.

Also, Inferno (of Behemoth) is worth a mention as one of the better metal drummers out there. Gene Hoglan is a massively respected drummer as well.
