So, I was in a store, trying out the Boss ODB-3 overdrive pedal, but even after fiddling with the settings there was a constant buzzing noise that wouldn't go away. The guy there recommended a noise suppressor pedal (which would pretty much double the cost of this endeavor). So my question to people who own this pedal, does this usually happen, and is there an easy way to remedy this?

Depends on what the buzzing was from. Possible single coils? An AC hum from bad power conections. A bad cable.

Personally, I would not get the pedal. I have one, and the only time I have heard it sound good after the initial honeymoon period was when it was being used as a booster to overdrive the tubes of an all tube head.

And it buzzes until you cut the treble out.
