Simple enough question, which one is better?

Toneport UX1 or POD Studio UX1

They both seem really similiar. is the POD worth the extra 60 dollars?

it's basically the same hardware kit, but different software I think... maybe they upgraded the USB to 2.0 but somewhere I doubt it....

Yea the toneport uses gearbox and the pod uses POD farm. Any opinions on which is better? they both seem to have the same amp models and such.

you get a podfarm upgrade if you have toneport. with my toneport ux1 i got an upgrade to use podfarm. i dont think theres really a difference.

Ok, cool!

I was wondering one thing. I read that with the pod you can monitor the sound after its gone through the software instead of just the dry signal. can the toneport do that too?

Really? I have the UX2 and they said I had to pay for POD Farm to upgrade.

Nevermind, I just upgraded with GearMonkey. They lied to me!

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

This is what interests me about the pod studio:

ToneDirect™ monitoring. Latency is a thing of the past with exclusive Line 6 ToneDirect™ monitoring. Record using amp and effect modeling without sacrificing tone or feel.

What I think that means is that you can monitor after the software processes the signal.

Can the toneport do that?

If I understand what you're asking it's the same. When I plug into my toneport and play I hear it as processed sound as if it's coming from the amp with the settings / effects I have setup.

If you plug into the headphone output of the TonePort, you get no latency issues. It's just like you're playing through an amp.

And damn, POD Farm owns.
