Alright, I'm a bit of a hard picker, a loud player, and although I'm not metal, I love a ton of fuzz in my sound(Not for mistakes ha) but I wanna"clean up" I guess. Get all that chordy playing like Mayer, SRV, and Hendrix. I could just go ahead and learn songs, but I'm wondering how you would go about putting these together. Like, I can understand that all of Bold As Love by Hendrix is in A, but how does he come up with all those little hammer on riffs? Like, he barely plays any full chords in the verses, yet it doesn't sound like a guitar solo throughtout.

He is outlining the chords by using the same notes that are in the chords to make up his fills.
