Okay, so I have an acoustic guitar with these horrible strings on it. They're kinda high up, steel, and they hurt. ALOT. Yes, I have calluses. When I play with a capo on it hurts alot less. But I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make it hurt less.
Any ideas?

*Put on lower gauge strings (requires a setup, hurts tone)
*GRADUALLY increase strength through practice and wrist exercises (I say gradual cause my acoustic gave me tendinitis from over-use).
*Light your head on fire (optional)

Hahaha, thanks for the help. ^_^
But I don't think I'll be doing the last option any time soon.
