So tomorow im recording in a studio.
Studio equipment :
12 Channel mixer
Julio (or smth lt) soundcard
Shure 57
Shure PG series mics
Shure Condenser mics (pencil)
Schenheizer CF bass mic

Ive been recording guitar in that studio yearlier but i could not get the sound that i want.My main goal is a typical Death's sound like CC's Tomb of the mutilated.Yes i know they used rectifiers, emg's,deans and stuff. The equipment i have :
Peavey Valveking 112
(maybe) Marshall JCM2000 combo
VOX Bulldog Distortion (Tube)

I know that its not the best equipment but how close can i get. What should i know, what should i use?I tried to record, guitar sounded scooped (good for me) but in the mix it just sounded harsh. The Tomb's guitar sound is dark and scooped but it comfortable for the years. My one sounds http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/9/30/2122725/Guitar%20A.mp3
So please help!

You're tryin to copy a mesa's tone with a valveking and a jcm?

Good luck.

Why don't you do your own tone? We've already got one of Death's, we don't need two.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

THat's what mids in the mix sound like when they're scooped. It's tinge at the high end. When you scoop, you've gotta re-do how everyone else is EQ'd, and it's a pain in the ass to make it sound decent.
