I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they played out of Marshall amps (probably a JCM 800 or 900), most likely with some kind of boost or overdrive pedal in front for more gain.

Guitars were Jacksons of some kind, with Duncan pickups I believe (I think Dave used the JB)

Even if that's not exact, the same or similar setup will get you a good Megadeth tone.

sweet, I tried out the 900 and I am completely digging that tone.
