OK, one of my SNES controllers has finally given it up. I was considering sticking it on a necklace, but I decided a belt buckle might be cooler.

Any ideas as to how this could be done? I cant glue it to a belt or something because I want to use it on different ones.

Cheers

Ah but he has a point - an official one would make a much cooler buckle

All I can say on the project is you're obviously going to have to unscrew the front from the back, and take out all the electronics, but I wouldnt kno where to go from there.

Good luck - I bet it can be done

It's too big to be a belt buckle. Just go get the NES ones, they look way cooler anyway.

Its a cool idea, i think a classic SNES controller would be even more excellent.

Im pretty sure if you unscrew the back and pop it in half, you could make some room and run a thin beltline or wire through, then somehow attach that to your belt. Its a sweet belt for sure.

1. Rip the insides out
2. Cut two slices in the back so a belt can slide through.
3.Wear.

It wont be a buckle and you'll have to wear the belt sideways but it's the best i could think of.

What's up with all you people. It's awesome idea. A NES controller would be easier to use though, since it's rectangular. Damn it, I'm gonna look for one on my local online flea market tomorrow! It would be a shame to use my own since they still work perfectly.

It's a good idea, but the problem is that most of my belts are studded, so it won't go on very far.

EDIT: Ohh, I misunderstood. Yes, I may well do that.

If this is done, you must also fashion a helmet out of a used PC monitor.

And armour out of old keyboards.

just attach a sturdy loop of fabric to one end and screw something into it to catch the holes on the belt, you know, like a normal belt buckle.

How's it broke? I had a broke snes controller that was pretty obvious to fix after I opened it...

Why don't you just go to Wal Mart and buy those belt buckles that already look like controllers. Way to be original here.

Because I'm in the UK. And if I have a broken controller, I may as well do it for free.

And I'm not trying to be original, I just thought it would look cool.

as a necklace it would make you look like flava flav. as a belt buckle you would look like a very nerdy cowboy

Well spotted!!

A friend of mine has a belt with a SNES controller belt buckle. It's one of the greatest things I've seen in a long time. Go for it

EDIT: OMFG. He has one made with a different type of controller, my bad. However, your one still looks freaking cool.

Buy a standard plain belt buckle, glue it to that and then attach it to whatever belt you want.

OR make a sort of metal bracket which is open slightly on one side and glue the non-open side to the controller, then clip it over an existing belt buckle.

Or wait 'till you've got two broken controllers, and do something in the lines of my new slippers. I didn't make them, but they still own regular slippers by a looong mile!
