Hi all,

I just recently joined a group of guys, and we're practicing up some songs to play out in a couple of months. Right now I play a Vox AC15, but I was thinking that I may want to try some other amps out just to see if there are any others that fit our covers better. We mostly play classic and alt rock, so I'm looking for something that would fit those. As for price I'd like to keep it under $800, but I could go higher if I needed to. Or if anyone knows about using a combo amp as a head to drive a cabinet. Thanks in advance.

a 50watt tube combo will be plenty for you - no need to haul around a head and cabinet

you can buy a 100 dollars mic and a 150 stage monitor, and you have enough with that. and a little powered mixer(about 120-150 dollars)
