I just got sick deal on a cab, and until I trade my combo in for a head or get a head, I'm using my 5150 combo for my head so.

I don't really like the stock speakers of the amp, but my cab has celestions gt75s and i dont want the sheffields mixing with the celestions, so....

can i just unscrew the back of my amp and unplug the speaker input from the amp chassis and just plug in the speaker cable into my cab so that im only using the 4 speakers?

providing the impedance of the combo's speakers matches the cab's impedance there's nothing to worry about

but I DON'T want to use the combo's Sheffield speakers. And another thing I'm confused about. the guy i bought it from modded the cab (it was an original 5150 cab, but he loaded it with Celestions and Marshall input plate, etc.)

well, the marshall input jacks says "Left" & "Right" with 8ohms under each one, then there's a switch in the middle that says mono and stereo. which do i use?

the back of my 5150 combo says 16 ohm MIN.

im a bit worried
