You can play anything with feeling, general perception of "feeling" is composed of bends and vibratos.

That's what everyone says.
It's not necessarily true.

I'm not denying those song could be played with feeling, but anyone can put passion into their music, no matter what it sounds like. As much as I dislike Punk music, I think it can be played with feeling.

I think comfortably numb's solos get quite a bit of feeling out of me when I play them.

Oh look at me, i bend strings slowly and therefore have more feeling than those guys with technical ability. yay me.

I'm not a wanking technical player (far from it), but i am really tired of this 'feeling' stuff. however, i'll play along and go with comfortably numb, bold as love, and black sabbath

My mind is going. I can feel it.

Well, there's a lot of different feelings. Like death metal is very angry, which is a feeling. People seem to ignore that kind of stuff. Generally, any music has feeling, but people seem to only think slow tempo guitar with a lot of bends is feeling. However, i understand that. And to answer your question the way you meant it, i would have to say Too Many Humans by Buckethead. I know there's more i could name, but i've just been listening to that a lot lately.

There aren't really any songs that need "feeling" to play, but there's plenty of songs that can't be pulled off if you're singing and aren't one hundred percent sincere about it.

For playing with feeling, I like to play the guitar solo to Hours Of Wealth by Opeth.

Looks like we're in a spot of bother then, for the man simply cannot die. Quite the conundrum we have here.

No it doesn't. As has been said, the "feeling in music" bollocks is bollocks. And how the hell does a technique not get bridged with feeling? Everything you play comes from an emotion or a state of feeling. Hell, if you're just messing around out of boredom... you're playing from that.

In terms of playing, the guitar in "Intension" and "Disposition" by Tool get me teary at times.

Singing, though, is much more effective. "Sober" and "The Patient" by Tool work me over. "Rapture" by Hurt also makes you dig deep.

And of course just about everything by Linkin Park. Damn them and their lyrical emotives.

It's hard to play something without feeling.

Have you tried playing with numb hands?

No, but I once played with band-aids on my fingers. I found it impossible.

Well you need feeling to play any song. But I think I know what you're trying to get at. So I'd say State of Grace by John Petrucci, Cry For You by Andy Timmons and I Cannot Tell A Lie by Paul Gilbert.

How does the movement of fingers relate to emotion/feeling?

Anyone who believes that there's some kind of connection is probably dumb enough to believe in the tooth fairy and god as well.

Thought you would show up soon.

But in this thread I will be agreeing with you...
