I bought a used Valveking for $230 usd, can't use it till xmas though. I played it shortly to make sure it worked and i liked everything about it but its not enough metal for some of the stuff i play. People suggest bad monkey to go with the vk but i'm wondering if:

1) I should buy a distortion pedal instead
2) I should buy a distortion pedal also
3) If the Bad monkey will give that "tight" metal distortion, not just massive amounts of slobbery gain.

The Bad Monkey will help push it into metal territory, yes, but it'll really get there with a little bit of crankage and the amp's gain at about 8... anywhere past 8 and it just adds fizz.
